About KGIB
Grand Island Area Clean Community System is a proud member of the national Keep America Beautiful as well as the state Keep Nebraska Beautiful program.
Keep Grand Island Beautiful (KGIB) was established to improve the environment of Grand Island through beautification, litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, and education. KGIB encourages individuals and community groups to work together and become mutually accountable to each other for doing their part in making and keeping their community a cleaner, happier and healthier place to live. KGIB works with businesses, schools, neighborhood groups and local governments to enhance our neighborhoods by reducing, reusing, and recycling our world’s resources for future generations.
Our Mission: To educate and interact with the public encouraging beautification, a litter free environment and waste reduction through recycling.
We are always looking for volunteers! We encourage individuals, groups, and families to take some time and give back to our community.
The Recycling campaign, sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, aims to reinvigorate the recycling brand. The campaign aims to generate awareness, explain how and where to recycle, mobilize individual ownership and emotional connection to recycling through community building, and transform recycling into a daily social norm. The campaign shows consumers that their recyclable materials want to be something more, and promotes recycling as a way to give garbage another life.
