CLEAN COMMUNITY SYSTEM NAMES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Grand Island Area Clean Community System has hired Denise McGovern-Gallagher as executive director.
Clean Community System offers one-stop proper and safe disposal of household hazardous waste and recyclable products and serves more than 85,000 residents in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, Adams and Merrick counties. The facility also has a reusable products area, which provides free materials.
A Grand Island native, McGovern-Gallagher has more than 30 years of management experience including relationships with business and agricultural leaders in the area and state. She served for 10 years as the executive assistant for the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corp. and as a consultant to the Hastings Economic Development Corp.
McGovern-Gallagher serves as an officer for Grand Island Rotary, past president for Third City Community Clinic, a member of the Nebraska Economic Developers Association and Nebraska Diplomats. She has been a notary public for more than 29 years.
She is married to Brian Gallagher. She has one son and two stepsons.
