National Medication Take Back Program April 22, 2023

The National Take Back Program along with Grand Island Police Department and Hall County Sherriff’s Office will host a pharmaceutical take back day on April 22nd, 2023 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.  Drop off locations will be Super Saver 5 Points, Super Saver 2nd Street, Hall County Sherriff’s Office, and Grand Island Police Department.   No sharps containers or syringes will be accepted. If you lice outside of Hall County, please check the link below to find drop off locations for this event in your area.

Effective 9/3/2021 We are no longer offering FREE TV Recycling.  We are also limiting the amount of TV’s/Day/Residence to two (2) per day.
below is our fee schedule:

 

TV’s weighing 10-25 lbs. = $10.00 each

TV’s weighing 26-45 lbs. = $15.00 each

TV’s weighting 46-60 lbs. = $20.00 each

For TV’s 61(+) lbs. = $25.00 each

 

TV’s are also being accepted at Best Buy that are less than 50” for $29.99 each.  They will also take tube TV’s smaller than 32” for $29.99.

 

Computer Hardware accepts all TV’s if less than 150 lbs. at a cost of $.79/lb.

NOTE CHANGE OF DATE: Electronic Recycling Day October 10th, 2018

NOTE CHANGE OF DATE: On Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 Clean Community System will be accepting electronics in conjunction with Keep America Beautiful Great American Clean-up day by conducting an electronic recycling event from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm at their office on Sky Park Road.
Our main focus will be TV’s-LCD & tube or console.  Other items being accepted:  computer monitors-CRT; CD players; laptop computers; modems; radios; power network cables; and VCR’s/DVD players.

This service is available thanks in part to a grant received from Nebraska Environmental Trust; however, there will be limit to the number of TV’s that can be accepted this day.  When the maximum poundage allowed by our grant is reached, we will have to cease accepting any additional TV’s.  Due to the size and complexity of wood console and rear projection TV’s there will be a flat fee of $50.00.  We hope the general public can understand the importance of recycling and why we have to charge a fee for the larger TV’s.

At our last one-day collection we took in 45,803 pounds.  Of this amount, 24,440 pounds were old CRT TV’s, 4,000 of console and projection TV’s and 17,363 pounds of computer equipment and misc. items.  This collection was slightly down from the previous years collection of 48,600 pounds.  We still feel this was a successful event.

 

EDIT:  At this event we collected 26,154 lbs. of electronic waste from 146 community members.  Way to Recycle, G.I. Area!
